My dad bought a 3020 gas new. He traded in a 730 diesel on it. I don't think you'll want to hear the stories about that 3020 though. My dad hated that tractor with a passion. The 3020 diesel was a good tractor but my dad always said his gas tractor wouldn't pull the hat off your head. It didn't like to start in the middle of summer forget trying to get it running in the winter. The 730 was a better starter than the 3020. When it started he said he'd pull the throttle wide open and go back in the house and have a cup of coffee. By the time he was done with the coffee the tractor was finally wound up. There was 4 other gas 3020s bought in this area at the same time. The dealer finally gave up trying to get them running right and advised the others to just let JD repossess them. My dad bought his outright and was stuck with it for a few years. He finally traded it in for a late 4020 diesel. That was before I was born so only going on what he used to say and my mom still says.
