So I changed out the old champ D-21 plugs today and found #4 plug to be all covered up with a thick coat of black junk so I can see how it would not fire till it was good and warm and even then miss at times. I put in a set of NGK 2910 or AB-6 not sure which number is the one since both are on the box Fired it up and no more miss

Those champ that where in the thing are the same one that where in it back when I got it in 05 or 06 so there old

As I said plugs are over a decade old so good chance the plug is just flat out wore out. It does not use oil or smoke but did have some carb problems last year and fuel problem this year so good chance that is why it fouled out

you have a low compression cyl, did you check it? least you put a bandaid on it for a while. that plug will foul also. brand has nothing to do with fouling.

I've had this tractor for 15 years. It mows 1.5 acres a week in the summer. It is a 12v conversion with low compression (105 psi) and burns a quart of 20w50 oil every 4 hrs. The champion D-10(?) plugs have never been removed and it runs like a top. Something is fouling your plugs.
