Battle of Brandy Station

I live about 40 miles South of Brandy Station, its still called Brandy Station the RR tracks are still there.US 29 runs up thru the area next to the RR tracks, not nearly as much made of that battlefield as ones like Bull Run and The Wilderness for some reason.Used to be an Allis Chalmers dealership there years ago to keep it tractor related.

I participated in reenactment of Brandy Station for years in Co. C 6th Virginia Cavalry. Good ground to fight on.
for 145th reenactment we did a 3 day ride into the site, "campaign" style, camping and eating what we carried on our horse. This gave us an idea of hardships Cav units endured.

What would peta say about a cavalry battle if'n they was around then, and which side would they align themselves with, north or south. (Rain must be turning my brain to mush)

It is a fairly well written article, save for one repeatedly glaring mistake. The town of CULPEPER, VA is located in CULPEPER County, VA. I have no idea where on Earth CULPEPPER (with three P's) is.

Sorry if this seems trivial, but someone who is writing a historical article should at least endeavor to get the spelling of the location correct, shouldn't they? No true Virginian would make this mistake! Must have been written by either a Yankee or a come here!

Interesting about JEB Stuart and the grand review he put on for Lee (who could not attend) a few days before Brandy Station that included battle simulations, further exhausting his troops who were already worn down from recent the battle at Chancellorsville. Then Stuart went on to show up 2 days late at Gettysburg.

Steamboat, you don't by chance remember meeting a calvary re-enactor from NH by the name of Jim Devine do you?
