Will a belly mower for a farmall cub work on an Allis B? How would the lift work? My '39 B doesn't have hydraulics or any lift that I can tell...... anyone have a mower on a B and can share pictures? Thanks

the mount for the mower is different. You need a mount for the ALLIS. The deck is the same but the drive mounts are different and would need some welding and modified to fit the Allis. I would say no but you could make a mount for the Allis and use a hand lift.

Don,t waste your time or money, The tractor with a mower is too slow in first gear and second you will run over ever thing . Have seen is tired several times over the years and never saw anyone keep on the B very long.

What you say may very well be true........however.......
there sure are a whole lot of Bs and Cs out there with Woods
belly mowers on them!

Cub PTO spins backwards of the PTO on the A/C B so no it will not work. Plus the mounts are not near the same etc. As for the lift I have already explained the hyd pump from your parts B and what you need to do

You need to come up to Virginia Chris Holmes at Elkwood VA built dozens of lawnmowers out of old AC tractors and woods mowers over the years still a lot of them around being used.
Young man just down the road from me bought a C with a Woods mower a couple years ago I helped him get the tractor up and running he loves the rig.

To change rotation of the blades starts at the center spindle of the deck so rotation of PTO doesent make any problem mounting the deck. Its all how the belt is routed and no twists are a problem.

Allis B takes L59 mower.
Rear bracket is unique runs from final drive to final drive.
Belt is driven by sheave that replaces belt pully, not off the PTO.
Be aware that when you push in the clutch the mower will drive the tractor, much to the detriment of anything in front of it (like well heads).

Lift is by pulling up a chain at the front of the mower. Uses a pivoting triangle mounted to a bar running from the fender mount bar to the torque tube. Mine hydraulic but I have seen manual versions, lever is similar ot the cultivator / plow lift levers.

Direction of blade rotation is determined by the belt routing around center spindle. Right throws and left throws are determined by belt on center spindle

Good chance woods made the after market mowers. I converted my Farmall 5 from a 5 to 6 foot belly mower. I had to attach a larger pulley to PTO. The direction of rotation is CCW. 5 ft mower was CW and it used the side shaft above the PTO.

So it's important to get the rotation right.

If you come up after it you will be taking I75 for best road and be going within about 10 mile of me.

Take your tractor and a wallet full of money to SE MI, leave your tractor and money and haul this one home. It also
eliminates your hand cranking problem.
