Brass carb jet port clockwise or counterclockwise?

Steve at Advance, when I took apart the carb, the brass jet port screw on the bottom half of the carb, near where the nozzle like tube sticks out was damaged. Whoever last worked on the carb stripped it. I think it is the jet port, and I think a replacement is coming in my kit.

Which way do I turn the little brass screw in the bottom half of the carburetor to I loosen it?

I figure since I opened the carb and see a damaged part, I should replace it.

Counter Clockwise to loosen. you will probably need to heat the casting where the jet screws in to get it out.

Best leave it until you know there is a new one in the kit.

Even then, if it's still functional, better left in than ruined and still stuck.

It will have a right hand thread, turns left to remove.

In all the years I have rebuilt carbs I learned over 30 years ago to leave those jet alone. One almost never has any luck trying to remove them and most if they try damage them so the point they cannot be removed

That jet screw I was talking about, what does it look like?

I will probably not replace it, but I want to know if it comes in the kit.
