Massey 231 - Good tractor?

Have the opportunity to buy a Massey 231, I believe year is 1992 or 93.

1600 hours and the condition backs up this hour count, it is in excellent condition. It looks like the tires have been replaced as the tires are too good to be original. Seller is relative of original owner who passed away some time ago.

Seller knows only that the engine is a diesel. From online research I believe this model only was made with the Perkins 152 3-cylinder.

Bottom line question is were these known to be good tractors?

Is the Perkins a solid engine?

How is parts availability now for these tractors?

Many thanks for any info from those that know these tractors. I know nothing about Massey so no idea where to start, but it's in great condition.

Very good tractors, parts are readily available. There are
many of them in my neck of the woods. If you?re happy with
the seller?s price then get it, you won?t be disappointed..

They ride ruff and the clutch pedal goes
down not toward. We raked alot of hay with
one and it never had any problems, just
did not like the ride.

It's the early 90s version of the 135.

Not a bad small tractor for the money and the engine is a gem.

Good tractors. Only drawback as mentioned is the clutch arrangement takes a little getting used to. Use your heel instead of the balls of your feet. Makes it easier.

Think there were two arrangements, one was the heel style that pushes down, the other the nice large pendulum pedals that swing forward.
