Super C carb choke assembly problems

So I took off my carburetor this morning and took it apart. The butterfly disc part of the choke assembly (the round disc that blocks the air flow to the carb) was tough to remove because the small brass screws were all buggered up. When I got the choke assembly apart, I noticed that round disc part of the choke was not flat, it was bent at one corner.

Is the round disc of the choke assembly supposed to be bent? If not, where can I find just that round butterfly disc part of the Zenith carb? The screw that attach the disc to the choke shaft might also need replaced, but I am having a hard time finding them.

Thank you for your help,

John

All of the carbs I have worked on they area flat. NOW here is what you should
watch out for. Many are not round and have a beveled edge. In other words a top
and bottom, front and back. When the choke is closed the butterfly plate will
actually match up to the angle of the throat of the carb. Makes a tight fit.
Just before you make the screws nice and tight you need to have the choke
closed and that plate needs to be wiggled around a little to obtain that snug
fit. Any good hobby shop will have those screws in little bags. Use a drop of
locktite!!. Hope that explained things.

Straighten it. If you hit it hard with a hammer you will damage it. Brass is soft enough that it will deform easily

Remember one of our conversations, I said to not go deeper than necessary...

That is what I was talking about, taking the shafts and plates out.

You are real lucky the screws didn't twist off. They are intentionally bradded over to keep them from coming out.

If you haven't taken the throttle plate out, don't! It will be the same, bradded screws that may twist off. It is very critical that the throttle plate be centered in the bore and installed correctly. Best leave it alone!

The only reason to take the throttle plate out would be if the shaft or housing is badly worn, and you were able to repair/replace the parts.

At this point, just straighten the choke plate, put it back the same way it came out with a drop of Locktite on each screw. Close the choke before tightening the new screws to center it.
