Color of 1944 LA wheels ( John Deere)

Anyone know the original color of the center of the wheels on a 1944 LA? I had mine painted green, but some of my buddies say they should be yellow. I'm talking about the big centers that I call weights. John Deere LA.

Here's a link below that will take you to hundreds of LA photos, most without rear weights but the ones that are there are yellow like the wheels. No green ones that I saw .....

Mine are yellow but have seen many custom variations.
