1939 Silver King

The lady that cuts my hair told me her husband has a 1939 Silver King. She did not have any more specifics but said it was her husbands grandfathers tractor.

I have read a lot about silver kings, and from what I can gather, they were well built and very fast.

What do people think of the silver king? I would love to see the guys tractor sometime, but supposedly he will not sell it until after his father passes away, maybe I will get an opportunity to buy it years from now when I have my own house.

I believe that they are desirable. A friend called me a few years ago to look at a very old Fait-Heath that he had had for many years after rescuing it from a defunct sawmill. It was little more than the transmission half an engine and axle all totally rusted. I put a post on here about it for him even though I couldn't imagine anyone buying it but it sold.

I have 3 Silver Kings. I agree, well built and run fast. It was reported that Henry Ford said that they were well built.

I have a Model 41 that my great
grandfather owned, and an R38. Both are
basket cases, but complete. Just need to
finish up all my projects for everyone
else so I can do my own. They usually
bring pretty decent money. After building
them for 15 years or so, they only
totaled around 8,000 tractors of all
models.
