Anybody haul a tractor on a dump trailer?

Thinking of a way to haul a tractor on my 7x14 tandem axle dump trailer, it?s actually 6?-8? (inside measurements) don?t have ramps for this trailer so was trying to think of a solution to get a non running tractor in the bed of it, once loaded it would be easy to dump/tilt to unload without ramps. Any suggestions?

(quoted from post at 11:58:26 06/09/19) Back up to a bank. Or load it on a trailer with ramps and transfer across
Yes, backing up to an embankment or even into a ditch can put the deck at the level of the tractor you want to load. I helped do this once loading a DC4 Case into the back of a one ton Ford wooden grain box. It loaded ok but after looking the whole thing over we decided it was too risky to try and haul it anywhere that way.

Depending on what tractor it is a couple of 2X10s doubles up with cement blocks under them work well as a ramp. Plus as long as the engine will spin over one can set a 12 volt battery on and use 1st gear and the starter to load it

No bank available but thought about using a chain hoist , back up to tractor, tilt the bed and start pulling tractor with hoist up on trailer but this would be pulling tractor up an incline and may be too difficult, just thinking to myself right now

Will see if neighbor has a bank near by, my bumper pull is only 6? wide and too narrow since his tractor is widened out, and my 28? gooseneck too big to get in to where tractor is, going to put a frame hitch on it one day so I can swap my 8000 lb winch back and forth from it to the bumper pull. Just toying around with the idea of using the dump trailer

Dig a pit that the dump trailer will back into. Of course dig it with backhoe. I dug a pit to load a planermill and later a UD18 engine on the back of my f550. The backhoe wouldn't pick them up.

The chain hoist will probably work, but be ready for a workout!

I winched an S10 Blazer out of the weeds, up onto a trailer once with a cable come along. Thought I was going to have a heart attack! Never again!

If you can, procure some type of electric winch, or even a drill powered winch.

Might look into the cost of hiring a tilt bed wrecker if it's a local move.

I made a double ended hitch out of two inch pipe, ten feet long, with a yoke at each end. Very handy for pushing dead tractors, etc.

Yep, been there and done that with a come-a-long one time pulling a dead CJ-7 Jeep, that was a stress test for sure

neighbor hauls his bobcat on 14k dump trailer and pulls his stump grinder behind dump trailer.

Surprising how often it gets used. Even has a dedicated spot on the machine trailer- easy to take along to an auction, etc...just in case. I torched a slot in the front crossmember, above the deck...slip the hitch through and use a drawbar pin to hold it in place.

I loaded a Case VAC parts tractor with a stuck engine by blocking the clutch pedal, putting the PTO in gear and the transmission in first and then turning the PTO stub with a 24" crescent wrench. It was surprisingly easy to move this way, onto a low trailer. One wheel had just the rim with no rubber, but it still rolled.
