Probably truth to that.

I remember as a kid, before we had electricity or running water we would set a 10 gallon cream can full of water out in the hot sun all day so we would have reasonably warm water for a bath in the evening.

Those WERE the good old days, right?
 
Like Goose, I remember using the "portable" tub even as a teenager.

We heated the water in a copper "boiler" on top of the Kalamazoo.
In the winter, we put the "portable" tub as close to the ol' Kalamazoo as possible when taking a bath.

I think that ladder may be a handcart; wonderful work nevertheless.

That wagon intrigues me the most.....never saw one quite like that before.

Is that a ladder or plow handles? It looks tapered at the bottom and curved handles at the top. Either way craftsmanship that you won t see now days
