What year is my dad's combine?

I think it's mid 50s.

He loved green tractors. Said they were green, the color of money.

Looks like a 45. 'HiLo' model.(low,squatty grain tank;round back).that would make it 60 to 63(approx.).

Are you serious? Number and serial #. I may have been 5 years old.
I do remember what farm dad was farming and that's about it in N Judson. Somewhere between 1953 and 1957. After that we moved to Knox, In and went into the dairy business.

Dad had one of the first, what was then called a self propelled picker/sheller. Now a combine.
Someone was on it 24/7 doing custom work. So yes money was coming in too.

Dad also had a wire JD square baler. Dad did custom work with it too. Not sure if this is true, my Brother said dad paid for the baler in one season.

Back then I may have been 3-7.

He had 3 JD A's.

Itcannot be a 40 because that is a No. 10 head, first corn head JD built and was for the 45, it might have been able to be put on a 55, I don't know that but it would not fit on a 40, too wide and too heavy. I cannot tell if grain auger folds up or back, up would be a Hi version, back a HiLo version, HiLo first in 1960 and I think the Hi came about about 57 with the 55 in about mid 50's. So I would say not before 57.
