Ford bush hog stump jumper

My stump jumper is rusted out. I was going to patch it up but changed my mind. Now I'm thinking of 1,taking it off 2,leaving it on and keep running it or 3, cutting out a round disc out of 3/8 plate. Any thoughts? Anyone run them without one?

Olliejunkie,

i only clicked on this because i wanted to see what a Ford Bush hog stump jumper is.

please post a pic of this. At this point i cant tell you what i would do.

I will probably run it for awhile and try to stay away from stumps. The last one twisted my pto. I went to get a new one but didn't know what class it was so that's on hold until next trip to town. He did say he would bring it home with him if want to go home and take some measurements so that is nice. He is one of the last good parts guys around here.

My mowers never had a stump jumper> Is it not shaped like a disk blade? Flat would not slide over the stumps.

Consider this,if you dont get it cut true, out of
balance, think what might go wrong.its yours and
thats ok but ive seen blades and stump jumpers
fly out.they have much power. 1 was almost new
utility bushhog squeeler or rebel cant
remember.it was out of balance broke shaft ,came
out side and went way out there. I was in a field
48 feet from the fence row.it came my way.id
measure and get a factory cut 1 if it was me.

Had a Deere MX8 that I couldn't keep the stump jumper on one side...poor design. It didn't go too far when it cam off, tho. Too heavy.
