Know what gripes me?

Maybe you didn't give them the answer they wanted to hear, I am just kidding It is just pure rude to ask a
question and when someone takes the time to look up the answer for you to either ignore them or ask the
question again like they never answered you. I have seen both happen here, also I have asked someone a
question and they would not respond to me but respond to others in the same topic. Sometimes I am not sure
why I keep coming back to this site

There are a couple of folks that frequent the John Deere forum with similar manners.

Typing the six letter word "[i:654c4848f0]thanks[/i:654c4848f0]" is not that difficult.

"[b:654c4848f0][i:654c4848f0]not sure why I keep coming back to this site[/i:654c4848f0][/b:654c4848f0]"

Will Rogers once said "[i:654c4848f0]A man only learns in two ways, one by reading, and the other by association with smarter people.[/i:654c4848f0]"

I get the best of both on this site.

You Hit the Nail Squarely on The HEAD! Dsmythe
BTW....I Love this site and have learned a LOT from all of ya'll, Thanks for fore bearing and answering questions, Sorry we have some RUDE folks here but 99 per cent are folks I would really like to get to know. Wish we could have a BIG Family Reunion!

I am probably guilty myself and I'm sorry if I have. I do try to follow my posts even though I may have forgot. Perhaps they found the answer or just forgot. Also some never follow up and that doesn't help someone in the future. It's already hard enough to search for old posts but when they're all dead ends it's even worse. By the way thank you all for your responses this far and in the future.

I always try to say thanks, when someone trys to help. But if I didn't sometime, I'm sorry, and thanks!

There are a lot of unknowns out there in the www.

Where our words end up, who knows. How they will be received, anyone's guess.

Especially when responding to a first time poster, which I see a lot of, and it seems few ever respond back.

I think there are a lot of younger people that are very computer savvy, but mechanically illiterate. They may send out the question to dozens of forums, then find the answer elsewhere and never come back to read the other answers they got. Or the answer is completely over their head, kinda like someone explaining something about a computer to me! LOL! Or never even read the response at all, get distracted with something else...

About all I can do is give it my best shot, hope for the best, which in my mind usually means keeping another one out of the scrap yard or fence row.

Maybe someone else will read the response, might be just what they needed to hear!

I've got 7 old tractors running,
and working because of the folks
here. Thank you all!!! Hmmmmmm
recount......I forgot I have fixed
a couple and sold em......

Well, not saying thanks is maybe forgiveable, but what really irks me is when a guy makes a
post something like .... "my tractor starts and then quits" ...... so a bunch of replies
telling him to be more specific like gas or diesel, make, model, how long does it run for,
and so on. You never get one word more out of the original poster. I guess he fixed it
himself .... ha !!!

Or how about this site not responding earlier and now there are no new today's tractor pictures or today's funny? Appreciate them when they're there!

That fact is one reason there are posters on her that I just do not bother to respond to. Another is the poster asking the same question later. It seems they never looked at the original post at all. So responding to it was a waste of time.

Maybe we all need a BIG YTER HUG!!!!! LOL

People are people. What I mean is that life is busier today than it used to be. How many have the time to write Thank You cards for gifts and such anymore??? IN times long gone it was standard practice. My Great Grand Mother would write Thank You notes for anything she felt was given to her. Maybe just helping in the garden. I still have some of them. Beautiful hand writing on nice thick paper.

A lot of this is just basic manners. They are rarely taught anymore. Yes Sir, no Sir, Thank you, Please, etc. all are foreign words to many these days.

Do you know what burns my butt?

A fire about three feet tall.

Sorry, it needed to be said.

Whole heartedly agree. There are a lot of times when there are prayer requests asked for and get a lot of responces also. I don't often take the time to reply (maybe I should though) but I do take the time to include them in my prayers.

Steven

I figure even if the original poster didn't appreciate the effort to respond, maybe someone else in a similar situation will read it and file it away in his or her memory bank for later use and the
information given is for the good of all who read it whether they agree with it or not..
