Jon F mn........

DB4600 told me I should post this for you with your center post addiction!
cvphoto24942.jpg

I had to laugh when I finally noticed I had a center post problem this morning! And I was stoped when I took the picture for all you safety nerds!

You done good Buddy! YTDOT should be proud. I think they make an OTC salve for that SOCP.

cvphoto24944.jpg

And if you draw a line straight from the post it makes a line clear around the world back to here you can?t see I wonder how many acres that Is blocking from view 😂😂

I think we can have fun with it and still be friends can?t we as long as we aren?t personally attacking people?

With friends like you guys who needs enemies!! I?m glad I met you guys at this stage in my life. There?s no way my mom would have let me hang out with you if we were kids!

john achmann It?s all in fun I?ve been made fun of my whole life I?m not about to let a little friendly internet chatter get to me . If Jon f had been born and raised on John Deere tractors there?s a pretty good chance he?d like John Deere if I had been around case tractors all my life and spent days on end with grandpa dad and my uncle pretty good chance I?d think John Deere was junk and case was the best thing ever

I spend many days and nights looking out the windshield of a Pete.
All in good fun as I have blue tractors, but at lease on the trucks they offset the drivers seat to the left of the center post.

The 4600 is an OS, but my ?50- 5 window has one.
You know John I got to thinking (it happens) and while the early tractors had funnels and chimneys and governors and radiators for the operator to look around one of the first early builders to streamline was the Minneapolis Universal Gas Tractor built by Northwest Thresher in Stillwater and later bought by Rumely and peddled as the Gas Pull. AND THY PUT A CENTER POST IN. But you knew that already.

Even if it's all in fun. I have to ponder if Maybe we just have had it too good? Center post or no center post either one beats baking in the sun or freezing wind-chill. unless the a/c doesn't work..........
Sod Buster

It's all in good fun as long as we all take it from you and don't give any back, kinda like making a meme at your request, but don't like, in spite if a no butt hurt order.

SVCUMMINS, I agree 100 per cent that it has more to do with what you are raised with, familiar with than any brand recognition. My Dad needed a tractor right at the end of WW2. Had his name in at the Deere dealer and IH dealer. Well, a H Farmall became available to him and he took it. I still have it along with another H he bought new later , plus a M my brother bought used years later.

If dad had got a Deere I am sure I would be loyal to the green line. I worked at IH, CaseIH dealer for 37 years and Deere dealer for four. I never got comfortable with the Case tractors or the Deere tractors. I can look at a red one from H on up to the 86 series and visualize nearly 100 per cent of their internals. Never got that far with the other colors. I had considerable experience with the CaseIH Magnum tractors but not enough to compare to the IH tractor. Not a lot of major repairs were done on them in my time frame. Lot of updating packages though.

As for the center post , well, that cab, although rater small, has very sturdy doors and wrap around windshield due to the natural strength that comes with a curved chunk of iron rather than flat and floppy. The Deere floor mat is about two inches thick and does a real good job of surpressing noise where IH mat was junk.

I never liked the Case power shift. Just don't. Never liked Deere hydraulic control of their hitch. A bend bar for draft control, come on. And try to raise or lower a hitch a quarter inch. And Case draft control, what a mess of linkages in that box cable controlled.

I could tell you a ton of things I don't like on IH tractors, but , like I said, I am familiar with them and feel comfortable working on them. Did I should say, I am too darn old now so don't mess with them.

I have one too! Along with the dogs backside to look at every day.

I haven't brought it up because being an actual center post and not a SOCP it has a significant and unfair advantage over the SOCP. The most important of which is that I'm not required to defend it out of blind loyalty and fear of retribution from my peers. So I can freely say that I can see it, and sometimes it blocks my view, altho I can't see how you could block 75 acres with it.

John, I do like the truck it?s an 05 Granite with the M310 transmission. Just took it in for inspection and mechanic says that?s a real expensive transmission to fix. I guess I better not break it!

Sadly it does not have a wig wag! It does have a center post!! The windshields are very small on that, it?s like looking out the moon in the outhouse at 42 mph!

I have been sitting back laughing over all this nonsense. Now you have jogged my mind that I am afflicted with DCP(dead center post)in my ol Freightliner 120. Oh well at least I won't have to look at it till this fall.IF I ever get anything planted.

You know what they say bout driving a single stack mack with a window in the back. hehe. Couldn t resist. RB

(quoted from post at 13:54:47 05/31/19) And how, pray tell, do you know about a 42 mph outhouse?

I was already hurting before this post. But dangit DB, now I'm hurting ALL OVER! **ROFL**

Thanks for the belly laugh.

I thought it was a good meme I just wouldn?t knock someone who pulls a smaller plow just because you can pull a 6 bottom 3 inches deep I can pull a 12 bottom down the road doesn?t really impress anybody does it .
cvphoto24969.png

I?m running 14 inches deep In alfalfa and sod your going 4 in stubble but my tractor is the gutless one 😂😂 hmm but case guys don?t get butt hurt

I drove an L series Ford for 15 years and maybe 8 of my last years was this IH and they didn't have a post.
cvphoto24970.jpg

It blocks no more or less than a case muffler oh wait I forgot case used invisible paint on there mufflers and cab posts don?t they ? Socp ... cos case of you figure out the rest your so brilliant

Maybe these big truck manufacturers will figure out where case bought there invisible paint and start painting there parts with them and the socp and cp will no longer be an issue

I don't know which is further from the truth, that your going 14" deep or that I'm only going 3". One is as rediculous as the other. I feel bad for you because truth is such a foreign thing for you.

I live near highway 15. West of 15 everyone has Green tractors. East of 15 most have Red tractors.

Kind of a funny deal.

Paul

Just think how BAD it would be if you were staring him in the face. Now that would make for a really rough day. Just couldn't resist. Keith

Keith, I went from this 95 IH to the 05 definitely feels like a step up. Drove a 77 DM about 20 years ago with a 237 and 5 speed. Could seat 2 uncomfortably in the cab. Never in a race to get anywhere but hauled the IH 2500 home when it died.
