First of all hope all having a good memorial day. Iam thinking about getting a farm tractor with loader and 3 pt back hoe the hoe would very rarley be used mostly cleaning ditch and to bury farm animals . I
like old fords dont think a jubilee would be big enough thinking 600 ,2000 .what are your thoughts

If you like the Fords I would look for a 3 cylinder model and I would look for one that was originally sold as a TLB. The whole package was sized correctly and not jury rigged together out of parts and pieces.
The smallest TLB that Ford sold was a 3400.
They were basically a 3000 - 38 hp - but with much heavier front axle for loader work. Folks called them a grave digger and I suspect they did a lot of that at cemetaries.
Same engine and drive train was a 3500 but a little more husky front end.
Next size up was a 4400 which was built on the 4000 platform - 50 hp.
And a bit heavier yet was a 4500. Same 4000 platform but heavier front axle than a 4400.
3500 and 4500 TLBs are probably the most common. Lots of those around so parts, both new and used are readily available.
On a machine like that that isn't used frequently I would want a diesel. No screwing around with points and carbs all the time. But those 3 cylinder gassers were good, reliable engines too.

Ultradog is talking about a machine like this one, they are good and reliable

(quoted from post at 04:15:16 05/27/19) ...I would look for a 3 cylinder model and I would look for one that was originally sold as a TLB. The whole package was sized correctly and not jury rigged together out of parts and pieces.

As a former 3-pt backhoe owner, I couldn't agree more.

I had a JD 4010 with a JD backhoe that appears to have come off of a JD 310 TLB. From what I gathered, the TLB died, so someone took the backhoe and converted it to 3-pt, so it could work on multiple tractors. Sounds like a great idea, right?

Well, the finished unit was built well - I have to hand that to them. BUT....it was very heavy, and even a bit heavy for the 4010. When in use, there was no practical way of keeping the hoe low to the ground as the bucket would dig in, so it was always a bronco ride.

In the end, I sold them off.....separately. The backhoe ended up going to someone with an even larger machine that made the hoe look small. But like you, he only wanted it for the same reasons you listed. Difference is, his machine cost 6 figures, cab and MFWD, but you're considering a much smaller machine. ....I'd look for a used TLB unit.

What you want will work, but you will likely have regrets about going the 3-pt route.

3 point backhoes are very hard on any 3 point system no matter what tractor one has. A former neighbor had one on his Jubilee and while it did work it caused the center link area to break plus he also had axles break a few times. One need a frame mount backhoe to really do much of any thing. I have a backhoe on an 8N but it is a frame mount and for what it is it oes a good job and I can dig almost 18 foot deep

M Nut and I both have a 4500 TLB- he advised me to switch to a Zenith carb...runs much better with that change. Very handy for farm use....burying rocks and other dead things.

A jubilee is no where near big enough for a backhoe, they totally beat up a tractor.

I would recommend calling the rendering truck for animals.

This is a great little TLB. Can use it as 3 pt tractor easily and is frame mounted. Kind of pricy, but cheaper than a Backhoe.
