John Deere 2030 heavy steering

The steering on my John Deere 2030 has gone heavy and the lift arms have become slow. I have checked the backend oil and it is on the mark.
Is this a common issue with these tractor?
Any advice on finding the issue?
Cheers

When is the last time you changed the oil and filter? Did you clean the sump screen then too? If you haven't recently it's time to. Do use hyguard.

Has it been making a chattering sound up front? My first guess is a worn stroke-control-valve in the hydraulic pump. If so, it can be changed without removing the pump. Or? It might just have some dirt in it. If it is not sealing, you lose near all your hydraulics - steering and rear lift. I am going beyond the obvious like being sure the hydraulic filter and/or suction screen is not plugged.

Hi thanks for the reply, I have only had the tractor a few months and it has only done 20 hours with me so it could be the filters. I haven?t noticed any noise from the front end.
Cheers

As suggested, clean the screen in the transmission and change the hydraulic filter. If there is material on the screen take note of what it appears to be. If the brake discs start failing the material from them can plug the screen and filter.

Iirc on some of those . The oil is to be measured with the dip stick cap resting on the threads, not screwed down.
A loader or anything hydraulic connected to the tractor ?
Odds are the transmission oil and coolant are overdue to the drain, flush and fill .
The corrosion inhibitors in the coolant are just as important as the freeze point .
The transmission needs clean Hy-Gard instead of monkey juice from the local discount store .
There one Shell trans-hydraulic oil for tractors that is an acceptable substitute but the name evades my memory.
