Which tractor would you sooner run when it is 33 degrees and spitting snow with a 30 mph wind out of the Northwest or when it is 90 degrees and 95% humidity--Well really I guess anytime????????? It don't take a rocket scientist to figure it out!!!---Tee

This "thing"--no cab--no air--no heater--no Sirus FM--no power and of course-no center post...

Or this Deere 4630--cab--air--heater--Sirus FM--160 hp and of course--"a center post"...

All the tractors I've owned or used as a kid growing up on a dairy farm had universal CBS cabs. They were air conditioned in the winter and heat in the summer.

Wish I had a gas tractor with heat and air. Won't happen. I'm 70 and still getting in done on tractors my age.

So if you don't have a cab don't complain you can't see out tractors with cabs.

Question is which one do you want to blown snow with when it's -30F plus whatever the windchill at 30 MPH + the tractor speed? I run the JDs like that and never had a problem with the center post. And back in the day if that center post was the difference between buying top of the line JD or an open station Case? That decision was more of a what you could and couldn't afford and that center post was the only thing you could find to cry about

This one more power less fuel cleaner quieter cab with no visibility restrictions, and less money to buy. A significantly better value over all.

Hey Dennis; I'm pretty happy with this Tractor. It did not cost me big bucks to refurbish the engine from 401 cubes to 426, and paint it all up, and make it the way I wanted it. The cab is warm in the cool months, and even though it does not have Air, the fan blows cool air in the summer. I also sold this tractor new when we were Case dealers so it has a connection to me. I have my favorite local country station to listen to when I want or I can listen to the 426 strut her stuff. Neither Jon's 1030 or my 930 are lacking power. He is pulling 6x16" plow and I am pulling 5x18 plow, not bad for late 60's tractors in the 100HP range. but darn-it; neither of us have an off center post to stare at. --- Have a good one Denny. Just kicking mud into the puddle.HeHe

Well no matter how you slice it Tenneco bought out majority control of Case in 67 and they bought the rest in 70.So from 67 on it should say Tenneco on the hood, not case.

Then Tenneco bought IH in 85 or 86. So that too should fall under the Tenneco name. Then they sold out to FIAT which is the badge that equipment should be wearn'.

Dang T, nothing better to do today than mess with the case guys? They have enough troubles without you pestering them! I got to spend the day messing with this!

Guess it beats having to work!

This story was on here a few years ago. The guys wife was a teacher. Took the little kids out to the farm to see tractors etc. When they came back to the school teacher said, now let us each draw a picture of a tractor. One little guy didn't draw anything. Teacher asked what was the matter you are not drawing. He said, I don't have a RED color crayon.

My dad is 68 years old. Even though he has 4 bigger IH tractors with cabs, heat, A/C, he likes to blow snow with his open station Ford 5600 and Ford 7' snowblower. I asked him why he didn't put it on a tractor with heat, he said, "it's not too bad out there, I have to look behind me either way."

2016 Cat D9T view from the cab.Had a guy run over a pickup a few years back with one of these.Parked it in front of the blade.
