Dust In The Wind

Its an old song from the 70s? Came to mind today while harrow packing a field I had planted to canola a few days ago. Raising a heck
of a dust and of course the incessant wind. From the Northeast this time but of course no rain. That little spit we had on Wednesday?
did not amount to much. There is a lot of canola being planted here. Along with a lot of expensive fertilizer. Anhydrous trucks are
going steady up and down the roads. Sure hope its not all for nothing. I've just got a field of oats left to plant sometime this
coming week. Been too busy to do any serious video editing although I've shot quite a bit. Just a brief clip of me filling up the air
seeder tank earlier this week. So you know I'm still around.

Rusty , you say you will plant oats in a few days, when will they be harvested. Here we plant oats in the fall and in about 6 weeks or less will be harvesting them.

Fall oats? Never heard of them. Some people experimented with winter wheat for a while but it never caught on for some reason. Winter kill was a big one. I have seen oats planted early June turn out to be an excellent crop to harvest in September. Only risk is if we get an early frost in August. Makes for some really light oats.
