I never changed a rear tire before, but this one is so small I am thinking of ordering a tire and giving it a try. Some say the larger the tire the easier it is to change, hope that's not the case with this one, I have changed 1/2 ton truck and auto tires manually so what do you think.

I just did a 16.9X30 tire the other day and had very little trouble but I have also doe tire repair for a living years ago so I know the ins and out of tire work. Most of the time the hardest part is breaking them down and this one I did was a real pain in the back side

You should be fine if it is a drop center rim. If, a split rim, you could cause yourself all kinds of harm if you don't know how to properly seat the rim lock. Also much easier and safer to leave the rim on the tractor rather than taking it off, to swap the tire.--------Loren

Helped a neighbor change a rear on his JD A years ago. It was stuck on the rim and they are scratching their heads. Im there and said noooo problem. Parked his JD and then parked his M at a 90? angle up against the other rear wheel. Lastly took the little FORD and a big 4x4 piece of pourch leg. Let the air out of the tire on the JD. Take the 4x4 and the ford and back into the bad tire and breaks the bead loose. They were dumbfounded. Took not even an hour to change the bad tube.

if the tire is junk just drive the tractor some, that usually breaks beads. I just did the Farmall B in summer, no issues. Now trying to do the one from the A that was bad last spring....what a pain. Like any tire the older and longer its been on the rim the harder to get off. Leave it on the tractor if you got room to work.
