M.S. Carburetor TSX 580: x-motors (ebay) vs Steiner

Want to replace Marvel Schebler TSX580 on 1955 Ford 640 (and yes, I've tried rebuilding it...twice).

Steiner, which I believe to be completely reputable, sells a new version (FDS1183) for $229.50. On ebay, I found a source, x-motors, which sells what [i:eb10372739]appears[/i:eb10372739] to be the same carburetor for $85.75. Distances between mounting studs and other dimensions are the same as the Steiner version.

Question: I don't mind spending the extra money if the Steiner carb is markedly better, however, I don't want to spend nearly 3 times as much if the two are identical. Has anyone had experience with the x-motors version?

Appreciate your feedback

Can't answer the question about the carbs, but the aftermarkets are fit all, universal models. That means the linkage will not match the original, it will have to be tinkered with to get it close enough to work.

I agree with Ultradog, try to get yours working. Unless there is something broken or missing, chances are it can be repaired better than a new aftermarket.

Or go with a rebuilt factory. It is better than a new aftermarket.

Yes there are a lot of these showing up
they are from a country known for cheap
products. May work good may not.
