Farmall 340

Per Ken Updike's book there were 7,213 Farmall 340 (row crop) tractors built and 11,737 International 340 (Utility) tractors built. You can contrast that with only 3,723 Farmall 240 (row crop) tractors but 10,288 International 240 (utility) tractors built from that same era.
 
Depends I suppose on what part of the country you are in. Tractors of those sizes in that age range just were not sold around here as if you had a tractor of that size you kept it and if you wanted a newer-bigger tractor you bought a 460 or erven a 560. And your older tractor still did the liter work.
