In thoughts and prayers. Woke up dizzy/with a headache. Got the wife to take me to urgent care and they sent me to the ER. Had a CT scan of my head, nothing bad showed up, so a second CT scan with contrast dye was done. What fun that was!! Waiting on results now. I hate waiting!! Stress at work, I'm pretty sure caused the headache, dizziness no idea.At 62, I hope this isn't the start of going downhill!! Thanks for listening.

If you are like most of us, you started going downhill 30 years ago. Will think good thoughts and hope for the best for you.

Hey Phil, sending prayers your way. But try not to stress too much. There are SSOOO many things that can cause what you describe; seasonal allergies, mold allergies, common cold (usually other symptoms though), stress, and something that's common for me, a pinched nerve in the neck. Lots more reasons also.

Best medicine I know of is to rest, relax, maybe talk the wife into a nice neck & back massage, soothing music ([i:e23e8501e3]or maybe the soothing sounds of a tractor pull[/i:e23e8501e3]), and anything else that relaxes you.

Are you dehydrated? All the symptoms of that. An IV will get you going again-maybe. Caffein in pop will cause dehydration also. Hope everything else is ok for you.

Phil9N,

Wishing you well - added you to "my list". Let us know what you find out. Hope it's good news.

Got turned loose at 5:45, the CT Scan with the contrast dye (makes you feel like you pee on yourself!!) came up negative for blockages. The dizziness is gone, just a touch of headache left, gonna have to stay hydrated better and reduce some of my stress somehow. Thanks for the thoughts and encouragement.

(quoted from post at 15:34:07 05/10/19) kcm has it right. This is a small problem, easily fixed. You did the right thing by having it checked.

Phil, I must apologize for leaving out one very important thing, and thanks to Belgian for saying it. You did the right thing by getting checked out.

Some of us have recurring ailments that we're used to, but anytime there's something going on that you're not sure of, best not to take a chance.

Glad to hear the tests came back normal.

had a CT scan on my head for the possible cause of eye suddenly becoming blurry. Turned out to be a cataract. Today the nurse told me they found nothing up there. I told her my dad always said that's what they'd find.

I'm 65. Going down hill is a fact of life. 13 years ago, I was dizzy every day for about a year and a half. Had every test in the book and 3 different meds. Nothing helped and it (vertigo) eventually gave way to migraines. Migraines lasted until I retired at 58 then disappeared. Last spring, the vertigo returned for 6 months. I skipped all the tests and just let it go away. Good luck with yours.
