Tractor Split, need seal verification

Hello!

Back in 2017, I posted about clutch adjustments for my Farmtrac 45 -> https://forums.yesterdaystractors.com/viewtopic.php?t=1329356&highlight=. I'm at the place now, where I need to split the tractor & replace the clutch. I will be getting a clutch kit, which includes dual stage pressure plate, spline pto disc, release & pilot bearing. I'm replacing all, while I have it apart. (Did I miss anything?)

I've read many posts online, and I haven't come across one that recommends replacing the seal, where the tractor is split. Looking at my manual, I think I need, what is called, "rear plate to transmission seal" Long part# ESL10080. Is this the item that I need? Thanks.

I'm all in for replacing anything that can be accessed while in there.

By all means replace the front transmission seals. Being a 2 stage, there should be 2 seals, I would think.

While in there look all the release bearing mechanism over for wear.

Look at the flywheel surface for hot spots, glazing. Look at the flywheel starter gear for worn teeth.

If any freeze plugs on the back of the engine, now would be the time to replace them.

If the clutch kit doesn't come with an alignment tool, you'll want to find or make one. Making one is not that difficult on a lathe. It doesn't need splines, just sized to fit the ID of the splines and the pilot bearing. Trying to stab a dual clutch without an alignment tool is near impossible, and an invitation for damage to the new clutch if forced. I like to test fit the discs on the splines first, just to be sure they will go and slide freely. Some dual clutches require an initial adjustment once assembled.

A shop manual will be a valuable investment.

On many tractors the rear main crankshaft seal is right behind the flywheel, and can be changed very easily.

Thank you. I will look for the other seal. Also the kit comes with an alignment tool. I've always had a parts manual, but lately found the repair manual online, so I'll look through it. Your other suggestions will be helpful. Thanks.
