Planting weather?

Last week I thought if we had a couple warm sunny days I could start plowing on Saturday. Haven't had enough rain to measure, but it's been so cool and cloudy it hasn't dried, so nothing going yet. I have 2 different weather services on my phone, one goes out 10 days the other 14. The 10 day forecast is for 7 days with rain and 2 days above 60?, none above 70?. The 14 day calls for 9 days with rain and 4 days above 60?, none above 70?. Around here they say yield starts to drop on corn on the 10th of May. No significant rain predicted, but no good weather either. Oh well, that's farming I guess. What's it look like in your area?

Cloudy and misty all day. Temp at 47F. Rain forecast every day until Sat. I did finish plowing the last field today. The Case 931 and Case 8358 plow did real good last fall and this spring. I plowed around 270 Acres with them last fall and this spring.

I worked up 5 acres last evening, was going to put in a little small grains ground was really sticky tho it worked nice, they said rain would start at 11:00 today, so hoped to plant it this morning.

7:30am the rain started pecking at the window.... sigh. It?s so cold I haven?t put the rain gauge out, but certainly enough to measure, 1/4 to 1/3 of an inch I would guess.

South part of the state from you. Had a non farming neighbor stop by last evening he said I?m the first one he?s seen out in the fields. And it ends up I didn?t accomplish anything.....

Jon, Here in SE Iowa I got started on the 16th and I finished up the corn last Friday. It went in pretty nice - the ground worked good. But it has been cold and rainy ever since. Had a little ice on the puddles Sunday morning. Even with the cold the first planted corn is starting to poke through. We need to start to predict a corn shortage though, so the CBOT will bump the prices up some.

very wet with some wet snow predicted tomorrow....nothing moving or growing. Mid western Ontario

Finally started to warm up last two weeks then this week lows of 23 and been snowing all day we are latter than dry years and about on schedule for a decent year

My neighbor in south-central PA no-tills most of his corn and beans. He's been planting non-stop for a couple of weeks now. He's a BTO with lots of acres to cover. Last I heard he's farming about 6,000 acres.

I got the oats in a week ago here in mid Michigan, but that's about the extent of it. We've been getting a 70 degree day maybe once every week or ten days. 40s and 50s with rain most of the time. We need some heat!

Was told by a crop consultant that several thousand acres of corn is in around Truman MN (very south central MN). But that is an exception.
