231 S Massey clutch question

I just bought a MF 231 S tractor i went and looked at it tried it out and everything worked great. 830 hour tractor. Got home the next day to unload backing it off the trailer i push in the clutch and the tractor keeps going , i had to shut it down to stop it. I think the clutch is stuck . I have tried pulling it , getting it in road gear and slamming on the brakes, and plowing about a hour with it under a good load. Whats to try next? I tried to adjust the clutch but it did not help.

Clutch wouldn't be stuck if it worked fine the day before. Sucker's broke. Split tractor, new clutch, just good clean fun. Welcome to the used tractor world.

When i was unloading it it went right in gear no grinding. But after i finally got it shut down now it will not go into gear with out grinding.

Not a pretty fix but if you can find an opening in the bellhousing area and with the motor running get a stream of water going into the clutch area. This will break loose the crud on the pilot shaft splines end let the clutch disc free up.
This has worked for me on a VW Rabbit and a GMC truck that were hanging up.

Like some one else said. The clutch disc splines may be gummed up, or through out bearing collar gummed up. Maybe a little WD 40 in the right place may free it up. Stan

I agree, something is wrong with the pressure plate, release mechanism, or the disc came apart.

It could not rust stick in one day.
