Anybody use a Steiner tractor parts temperature gauge ? I just put one on my 3020 . The sender was a little tight in the head on the original gauge it took my 2 foot custom built harbor freight ratchet to get it loose . Now I have a working temperature gauge again

Someone had installed the gauge from a later Serial number tractor at some point

Well hopefully I have better luck . I would have bought another John Deere gauge but the last one I bought won?t go back to the cold side on the 4020 so I thought I?d try Steiner
 
Evergreen Restoration has american made gauges been told he calibrates them,kinda spendy but american made.

I have read several times that his tachometer Is the same cheap made in India as the One you can buy anywhere else but his just have the hours set . I don?t know about his other gauges though
 
I have purchased a good bit from Steiner but my experience with imported reproduction gauges has been very poor. Ammeters being the worst, followed closely by temperature and pressure. I no longer use them. For most brands there are people offering quality gauges and you can snag NOS off EBay now and then.
 
Evergreen Restorations is the only source to use for good USA made gauges. They look original, work and last.

I've heard about a lot of gauge issues from some products made in a variety of places, some seem to work and others not so lucky. What I am surprised about is that the word "Steiner" made it past the security on this site. Someone mentioned once that competition sellers names seem to be red-flagged somehow.
 
I put one in my Ford 4000 a year ago. It works, which is more than I can say for the one it replaced. Ya get what ya pay for.
 
That?s the point I am at at least this one works I had to modify the bracket a little because the new gauge Is thicker than the old one
