Hope people are enjoying it today, the swap meet of old iron by LeSuer.

Watch the weather forecasts, it gets ugly on Saturday, esp heading east and south.

Even if the snow misses, lot of rain for a wet grounds. Feel bad for the organizers and exhibitors, lot of work put in.

It?s a little spongy out there. I see the Belgian is chomping at the bit. The only place I saw any field work between Litch and St Peter was in light ground around Winthrop.

I stayed home to maybe plant some oats.

Hooked up the disk, went to unfold it and oil shot everywhere, blown hose.

With the detour my 5 mile trip to town is 19 miles one way.

I saw a fellow seeding near Rockville last nite- pretty sandy around there. Nothing going in northern Meeker county, except the usual "first in the spring" was picking rock. Again, on lighter ground along Cty 34.

I had occasion to pass by the show grounds today about 1:30. WOW for a crowd !!! Parking lots are jammed full and vehicles are parked on both sides of the road for "about a mile" in all directions.

That sounds like the Henderson detour. My Pine Island to Gaylord trips are usually through LeSuer going west, and through Henderson / New Prague going home. The weather will probably cancel the swap meet for me. I don't much like a driving adventure anymore.

Yep, I changed my mind. I am going to stay home Saturday. Winter storm warning made my mind up.
Maybe next year......spoken like a true Cubs fan.

I hit 5 counties today and Winthrop and the sand north of Cold Spring were the only spots I saw equipment in the field. IIRC the Winthrop field usually has edible beans or peas.

I was there today and it was a great day to be there. A little cool but almost no mud. We usually go on Saturday but other plans had us go up on Thursday and spent the night and do the show today.I got some front tires and rims as well as two Deere narrow fronts ends and a few pieces of sales brochures. It was beautiful there today. Maybe a bit too windy... had to catch my hippie hat a couple times. :)

I like it when the ground is a little spongy... it makes for nice walking.

Husband got some rusty wagon wheels. I got a small ball peen hammer... for a neck massager. And of course a bag of kettle corn.

I'm holdin' down a recliner now.

The 14/15 state highway river crossing just north of New Ulm. 2 year prject, was a couple mile detour last year, it a very long complicated one onto 3 different county roads way too congested.

I gave up on the day wasn?t meant to be. The adaptor on the hose stripped, and have to order one, odd adaptor.

Wife and I went out for anniversary dinner early.

Hope to see the Oliver?s in August!

My son Daniel and I are there and will be tomorrow (Saturday) at least until noon. A few vendors left but most stayed. We are betting on some people coming tomorrow. If it rains or snows, that is just the typical for this swap meet. One year they had four wheel drive tractors to pull us out of our spaces. Very easy to get there from North either through Belle Plain or Arlington, not even out of the way. I bought a Ford tailgate and a gas tank for my M151A1 Jeep. Lots of things to buy there. Come spend your money!

I made it up there today. Found a couple things I was looking for. Waited about 25 minutes in backed up traffic to get there, then drove around the parking lot for another 20 minutes looking for a parking spot!
I think it gets bigger every year. They had a portion of the lower parking lot roped off and vendors in there also.
Only about 5 or so people showed up for the meet and greet at the fire hall. That was down from last year.

Nice to see you guys at the meet and greet. It was a nice show, but a little windy. A lot of stuff to see. I walked the complete grounds and then went back to get a few purchases and as always I saw things I missed the first time. I did go back to look at a piece only to discover they raised the price. I'm not sure why. The two things I was looking for I did not find, but I did get a nice rear tire and rim for a Farmall B at a reasonable price. Unlike some years I had room to haul more, but maybe I am running out of wants and needs.

I always go to Pioneer Power early to get good parking. I got there at 4:30 a.m. Friday and got the first spot right outside the gate by the buildings. I'd rather nap for a while or sip coffee in my truck than walk a mile each time I needed to unload my cart (which I did four times). I found tons of stuff -- four Homelite chainsaws (all running), some heavy-duty cart wheels with new tires, a couple of floor jacks, a new 20-foot log chain, a folding hand cart, two nice 15-inch trailer tires, far too many oldie-but-goody hand tools, even an old horse saddle for $7. Of course, it goes without saying that now I have to buy a horse, but that's how these things develop and accumulate, right? Right? When I left around 3 p.m. to hit Le Center yard sales there were still vehicles lined up along the roads in all directions for at least a mile. It's a crazy event!
