Can I put this engine on another tractor?

Just a flying question...can I put a David Brown 880 Selectamatic engine straight into a David Brown Cropmaster? Obviously there are clutch size differences. If I could, would it over torque the gearbox and diff?

Technical fit, bolt patterns and lengths of parts are somebody else's data to supply. Engineering of drive line components are usually tailored to the engines rated Horse power. Some companies retrofit smaller engines into drive lines for prior more powerful tractors. some just boost horse power and hope the design was robust. Look to the heritage of the components then decide. With money any transplant is possible.. Worth it rarely. For braging rights or pulling for that 5 dollar trophy, sure. Jim

All I know is,they put some Crop Master gas engines in 850s and called them Oliver 500s.

Given enough time, skill, and money anything can be done.

NO the Cropmaster is a 4 cylinder engine and the 880 Selectomatic is a 3 cylinder engine. MJ.
