Their technical advisor seems to be a couple of blips out of plumb. You'd think if they're going to all the expense of making a TV show they'd get someone who knew something about the subject.

That is obviously not a can of ether. It is shaving cream. The guy is just heating it up. Warm shaving cream gives you a closer shave.

Looks like there's a tiny red straw going from the can into the stack -- same kind of straw that comes on WD40 and such cans.

Yeah, must be trying to lube the muffler bearing.

omebody ought to try it....some exhaust valve will be open & maybe enough fluid will get into the cylinder to kick her off?

Years back when they were tiling a field on my farm the workers wanted heated beans so they took a wire and fixed it to the exhaust of the tiling machine. Later the Dad of the group was laughing because the hit some blue clay and their can of beans exploded and they did not have any more so had to go hungry.

I watched the episode. It was supposed to be starting fluid/ether. Guy had the side panels off the tractor looking all over for the air intake. Those old worn out Allis Chalmers tractors need ether to start if they sit more than a few minutes.
When he first gets the tractor to fire it was in gear, ran forward several feet, he was standing by cab door, hood side panel was leaned against frt tire. He almost ran over himself and the hood, but luckily the tractor died when it burned all the ether.

I'm done watching the show. Has as much to do with farming as Ice Road Truckers has to do with hauling freight.

You can toss all the rest of the so-called reality shows in the same pile too.

I think he got it confused. You only have to refill the Lucas smoke generator on Lucas products. Of course it could have a Lucas injection pump.
