$150 wow, you couldent even insure a matchbox car in this state for that amount, my 1989 Chevy 3500 dually rack dump is over $500 per year!

Looks like a nice GMC. Out of curiosity what engine? 4+2 trans?

Here liability insurance is cheap. It's the other coverage that'll cost you. I had a '01 Dodge 3500 dually with a 12' flat bed and liability was only $35/month. It's funny because at that time I also had a Escort ZX2 and just liability on that was $85/month.......

I?m not sure on the engine I?ll have my Chevy buddy
look at it for me . It 5 speed main box and 2 speed
rear end . My entire farm insurance policy including
custom farming coverage is 85$ a month

That looks like a good straight solid running truck! I?m going to guess if it?s a 6cyl it might be a 267,if it?s a V-8 then 283, possibly 327 or 350? I remember some bigger tandem gas trucks in this area ran 427?s.

you wouldnt like NY State,,you would like the beauty of it,,and the farms,,but they have to help pay for the Big Apple,,and they have to go through hoops to have a gun on the farm too

GMC didn't change styling much if at all to determine model years on their trucks. I'll assume that truck is too new to still have a Big Block V-6, and that's too bad. If it has an in-line 6, I hope for your sake it's a 292, the 250 was also available. My guess with the 5+2 trans it may have a 327 if it's old enough, most likely a 350 truck engine, and slim chance it has a 366 big block truck engine.

From posts on other forums I hope it has the 350. So many 350's were built parts are still available. 366 parts just don't exist anymore.

Summer of 1982 I helped my buddy harvest potatoes, drove truck hauling in. Had a pair of '66 or '67 C65's, one with 292-6 and 5+2, other had 350 & 5+2, and a Ford 750 with 6V-53 Detroit diesel and 5+2.
The 350 powered truck was fastest loaded on the road, and O-K to load, and burned the most gas in a day. The 292 powered truck was second fastest loaded, by far easiest to match speed with the tractor powered harvester. The Ford was just a noisey nasty truck to drive. No skipping gears when loaded, could run thru transmission in low side of axle then shift to high when in 5th. Could run 2-3 days on a tank of fuel.

Township road commissioner I worked for had a '67 and '74 C-65's, both 366 & 5+2's. '67 geared to run about 58 mph, the '74 geared to run about 67 mph. I was the only driver the second year I worked there, the '74 was brand new that year. Put a lot of miles on that truck. Couple years later the township bought a second dump truck, a C70 tandem with 427 & 5+2. Never even got to sit in that truck.

Biggest drawback for this truck will be brakes if it is equipped with hydraulic brakes. Air brakes no problem, but parts like wheel cylinders and backing plates are tough to find. Managed to get the wheel cylinders rebuilt for my 76 GMC, which probably has the same parts as the truck in the picture. Does this truck have a single or double master cylinder?

I bought a '86 f600 a few years ago. Single axle with the fuel luvin' pooch 370 engine. It'll pull anything anywhere in low. Has 5&2 for a tranny, rear end. All that said it is a handy thing to have around.

I should say that my insurance is around $150 due to the fact that it's considered a farm truck and falls under our farm umbrella policy.

Larry I traded some Work for it I have Been cleaning up all the equipment getting it ready for auction we didn?t figure this one would bring much on auction and I have been wanting to get ahold of a truck for quite awhile so I swapped 500$ worth of work for it .

Well the tires are less than two years old so if they
were outlawed I would think the tire man wouldn?t
have put tires on thrm

Look up the RH-5 rims and see if you have them.

They have no lock rings and split in the middle where I see that hump on the rim.

They are very dangerous since you cannot see that are put together right.

I had a similar truck that I went thru the brakes on. Parts from napa there next day for cheap. New wheel cylinders around $35, set of 4 brake shoes for $70. I thought that was good.
