My lucky day!

I went to bring a round bale to the neighbor for his horses, and I saw this nail stuck in the tractor rear tire. Very luckily, it wasn't stuck all the way through.

Then, I caught this old cow in the corral that I have been wanting to sell for a year. She would never come in the corral with the other cows. She is pretty old, and kind of sickle hocked, so her back feet always bother her. I always thought that she didn't want to be pushed around by the young cows. She must've been playing me, she really came to life when she realized she was closed in. I have never seen a fat, crippled, old cow get so wild and try to jump out. I hope my luck and corral hold for a few days.

My experience with spooky cows has been that you should put her in the trailer tonight, water and feed her in there until sale day. TODAY is your ?lucky day? tomorrow may not be.

That corral is not all enough for a crazy cow to be in for a few days. LOL She will figure out how to get over the top or under the bottom, if given time.

She don?t look that crippled to me . I bet she can still clear a good 6 foot tall corral fence with no trouble

My experience is about the same. You either load them when you first catch them or you have a fast horse and a long rope. Lots of times those old last calf heifers will go nuts then just tip over of a heart attack.

I've had it go both ways with a nail like that. Pull them out just in time,or pull them out and the chloride comes spraying out right behind them.

I agree with Tony! She needs to be in something with a lid on it if it's not already too late.
