Skunk followup--got one, how many am I looking for?

I set up the trap during daylight with a couple of pellets of cat food, figuring I'd catch a cat or two and teach them to avoid the trap by nighttime. Went out about 9:30 to set it for real and there was a skunk in the trap. Thanks for all the tips (but I suspect it was mainly beginners luck).

How many am I looking for? Would you expect two? Or more? I didn't get a good look at this one (used the blanket trick), but the one I saw last night was not a baby.

Thanks again for the help--I knew I could count on you guys.

Sometimes it's one and done... but one year, my husband trapped NINE skunks!!

And no, it was not the same one returning repeatedly... unless it literally had 9 lives. If you catch my drift. ;)

Thanks for that encouraging news. This guy won't be back, but I'll see if I can find any of his friends tonight.

I need to start setting traps again but waiting for roads to dry up as I am 9 miles from the farm and need to check traps in morning so some dum cat isn't locked up all day. I lost tract of how many I trapped but was up to 16 I think in about four years.

Six or eight opossoms, maybe ten racoons. I think they basically hang out at a neighbors large wooded farm grove and another neighbor abandoned buildings so kind of on going. They all contacted lead poisoning.

Bob, the sdgfp is paying $10 each for skunk, raccoon, possum, and fox tails. It’s a bounty program, trying to save pheasant eggs.
