Saw a bunch of lightning bugs. Poplar trees are blooming. Cherry trees are blooming. Bees are working like crazy.
BUT, I have seen 11 degrees in the middle of April.
Just can't ever tell what is going to happen.

Richard , it's been 80+ last couple days. We planted tons of seeds yesterday.......in the greenhouse! We did plant broccoli and collards plants and potatoes in the garden. Also lettuce, spinach, and kale seeds in garden. Fairly good chance we will get one more frost.

Some areas around here might get up to 2' of snow from Wednesday to Friday. They are saying 8-10" here now. Still some snow to melt where it was deep and on the north side of trees. Ground is thawed about 8" or so, don't know how deep below that as it usually melts from top and bottom. Then looks like rain most of next week. We might just get the flooding we missed earlier.

I believe spring has sprung in N Texas.

Blue bonnets are blooming, pecan trees are leafing out. Pretty good signs the frost is over. It was in the 80's today.

Haven't seen any lightning bugs though. They are never as plentiful as they used to be when I was a kid.

Guess I put too many in the jar! LOL

Plenty of lightning bugs down here.
Hit the mid nineties today with very low humidity and lite winds.
I can take days like this all summer.

Wonder how long it will stick around. Ground is too warm. As to flooding. Frost is out/going out. Most will soak in. Can't say for where your at. I was in the garden today and another couple days of sunshine and 50° and I'll be working up the ground.
In the Brainerd Lakes Area.

One year, 1980's as I recall we didn't have snow all winter....come May, it snowed,not a lot but covered the ground solid white.

2 weeks ago i was re-setting my deer stand and had a deer tick on me. a first for me, they sure are tiny little buggers.
