Pretty near 40 years to the day my dad and I were pumping water out of a big flooded flat part of the field into the pasture area. It was a lot of hard work setting up and you could pump all day on a slough that big to take it down. Little 3 hp Tecumseh on the floating pump handled it fine. Heavy work carrying it out into the slough through mud. Then unrolling the flat six inch hose and hoping the wind didn't twist it up before we got the water flowing. I didn't do that too many years before getting fed up with it. One big rain and we were back where we started from .
