Any suggestions for a substitute replacement for that metal tube running from carb to the air cleaner?

Make a cardboard (flat albert) mockup and measure the end sizes. Take it to a muffler shop and have thembend it.

I've made several that have complicated bends and turns by using sections of rad hose. Each joint has a lightweight steel sleeve inside and those joints can be
clamped (sort of ugly) or glued together. A visit to a local wrecking yard will give you all the hose you need, and of course you have to find hoses with bends
formed already.
