Sad farm accident, Stockbridge, MI

Local farmer Rex Hannewald (63) killed in auger accident March 20th working on a manure spreader. There is a Hannewald Barn at the Waterloo Farm Museum just west of me that are the same people he is descended from. This happened in Waterloo township around 12:40 in the afternoon. I did not know him, I'm sorry to hear of it...

Sounds like it happened while we were all having lunch Wednesday at the Cracker Barrel. News says he got caught in a auger working on a manure spreader. Says EMS was called but it was too late to help him. Sad story as it reminds as all to work safe and to be careful what ever we are doing.

Very few people survive a PTO related accident,, I am one of the Lucky ones...It all happens so quick...My condolences to his Family.

A guy that my dad worked with lost his son in a manure spreader beaters. The daughter of a lady I rent a farm from last her hair in an elevator PTO and a guy I work with lost one of his nuts while stepping over a pto shaft unloading corn, we would of bled to death if a neighbor did not happen to stop by.
