You beat me with that comment. My uncle has an International t9 crawler. It's been sitting in his shed for years now. When he first bought it from a local guy he almost got killed on it. He was pushing up manure piles and went over the center of the pile. The dozer rocked forward and flung him out of the seat like a slingshot. He ended up sprawled out on the hood of the dozer.

Why would you be deaf by the end of the day? I used to plow with one for 15 years with the old moldboard plow 4 bottom on a D-4 then 6 bottom on it. Or the D-6 with the 6 bottom. The engine makes more noise than the tracks squeaking all day.
As for the pitched out of the seat deal that just falls under common sense during operation and a learning curve. Both of our cats have digging capabilities. One has a blade and the 6 has a loader on it. Got lots of learning about the pivot over center like that.

I used to like the sound of the Detroits. I ran HD5 quite a bit. Seems like it had a very short straight stack. On the other hand when the stack broke off short on my D4 it knocked out my hearing in a few short hours.

caterpillar Use to farm quite a lot a With a John Deere 420c I never noticed the noise any worse than any open air tractor . The only time they try to pitch you out of the seat is if your going over a something that has a really big drop
