Got The Wheat Out

Finally got to finish my wheat contract this morning. Ground froze good and solid overnight (18F) so were able to get around with loaded trucks without making a track although the surface was getting a little greasy by 11:00 am when we finished. That Rem grain vac sure is a labour saver. No more dust to breathe and I never picked up a shovel. I took the time to shoot a little video of it.

Is the terminal in a major city where the trucks unload? Is the wheat the bread wheat type or maybe the durum (macaroni) wheat type? That's a nice CASE tractor but I still think the style of the family like your CASE 730 are the best when talking styling only.

Its a big Richardson terminal just outside the town of Southey. Red spring wheat will eventually be flour and bread products I guess. Durum used to be profitable but disease and grading problems kind of turned me off it.
And yes, I'd love to have a late 9 or 1030 Case on the job but not sure they'd handle the vac. Plus it takes 1000 rpm pto which the 30 series did not have.

I have a 2090 and a 2290. You must have modified the PTO knob? Looked like you were moving a lever forward to engage the PTO. That looks like a better idea.

Andy, wondered if anybody would catch that. I put up with that poorly designed knob control for the pto that came standard on the 90 series for years. Finally when it broke I came up with a lever conversion. Used a lever off an old washing machine, Mounted it on the same pivot shaft as the hydraulic levers and ran it up through the "hitch" opening on the console. Obviously this tractor does not have 3 point hitch so there was some free space on the console. The updated pto control lever works well and I'd recommend it.
