More case in miniature

The building process is done on the 50's vintage Case S-139 disc harrow. Lots of little pieces to fashion and solder and bolt together with tiny little 0-90 screws and some bigger 2-56 and 4-40 screws and nuts.
It is all together. The wheels raise and lower and are attached with linkage to the self leveling hitch. When the disc is in transport it still sets level from front to rear like the real one. Now I have to dissemble the disc gangs from the main frame so they can be painted. The gang frames are dark green, and the main frame is Flambeau red. We will also be painting the disc blades and spools and scrapers with black and green. See the picture of a real 8' one. This replica is the biggest 13'9' version, so it has more frame work.
Stay tuned for the finished project, and some details of the build from begining to end.

Nice job Loren! When I was a kid we had a Case disc and 3 bottom plow. I pulled the disc with an Oliver Super 88. The disc was small but built heavy and didn?t have wheels just pull the rope to change gang direction. Wish I still had it .

Loran;
Thank you for letting us follow along on this build. All I can say is WOW! You are talented Sir. Dsmythe

Looking so awesome. So funny to see somebody at a train ask why the toy engines are gold color. Brass models are hundreds even thousands each . The Japanese scale engines and cars are just so crazy detailed. Love the O gauge trolley cars too. What if you could hook your creations to a little Running Case tractor. Wouldn't that be fun?

Where are you getting your small screws, nuts and bolts?
I have no problem getting 4-40 socket head cap screws but anything smaller
can be a problem.
Haven't tried to get 4-40 nuts lately. I've been using Tacoma Screw
or Fasteners/Fastenal. Frequently they look at you like "HUH?"

Very, VERY nice!

Quick question: On the curved ends of the gang frames, did you notch them to get the bend and then solder the notches?

Yes, that is way North of Awesome. I see the scrapers are on now. I cannot get over the detail, especially of the smaller parts.

very nice, very nice.
my four row mounted cultivators are coming along. hope to have something to show pretty soon.

Dakota Toys has 2-56 brass hex head screws and nuts. My local True-Value Hwd store will order in the 0-90 screws and nuts for me. Most all Hdw stores have the 4-40 screws in brass round head and steel socket head, in their M-F drawer/ bolt section.

Thanks.
I'll check with the local Ace Hdwe store.
They have lots of those cute little things.
