1954 Super MTA Diesel Value?

I am looking at a 1954 Super MTA Diesel to purchase. It is not restored and in new of a new paint job, plus fenders. What would be a fair price for this tractor?

Running with reliability, straight sheet metal, reasonable to good rear tires, and a TA that works, 3000 to 3500. If it does not start on gas and run on diesel
reliably, it would be worth 1000. If the TA is out but all else ok, 2000. Bad tires take off 1200. Jim's opinion in central MN.

Well I don't know about value but when I was in high school I worked for the neighbor who had a 400 hd. cattle feedlot. He had a super mta gas with New Idea loader he used to scrape
feed lot. It had a narrow front and he was the handiest guy running a loader that I ever saw. He could control it better then you can control your hands. Kept me and his Dad
running to keep up with two spreaders. I pulled a spreader with the 900 Case and Dad pulled the other one with a IH. 400 diesel. I know this has nothing to do with your question but
it just brought it to the front of my mind.

I think you are way off on your prices. I've seen Super MTA Diesels that looked like **** being advertised anywhere from 5000 to 10000. Ones that have been restored are even higher.

They have come down in value like most collector tractors. In Wisconsin, if it had a good TA, Excellent tires and the engine starts on gas and switches to diesel
as it should it would bring $5000 to $7000. In other words in top condition. Parts for the engines on these can be difficult to find and expensive and also
difficult to find mechanics who know how to work on them. Average condition needing work probably $2000 to $3000. Five years ago good ones were $10,000 and up.

Asking price has nothing to do with actual selling price.

Prices are all over the place on them. I would be more concerned that it ran and works correctly. Would rather deal with exterior stuff on one of those like sheet metal or a tire.

Geez,I could have bought one of those from a dealer back in the early 70s for $1100. He only wanted to give me $400 for my H on a trade in though and I wanted more.

Is it running and field ready, or is it parked in a fence row and has not run in decades? I've herd that diesel engine can be expensive to recondition.
