We went to visit our daughter in Omaha last Sunday. They actually had a stretch of north 144th street closed because of potholes.

On the alternate route, I hit a pothole where it was a wonder I didn't blow a tire. Traffic was such that I couldn't avoid it.

Ohio is soon going to add more tax on gas. More money to fix the roads they claim ! lol. I'm betting the roads won't see the extra money.

We are leaving for a pull in Lincoln Neb. in about a hour-taking I-80--any advice on roads?---Tee

buggers in Indianapolis raised ours saying they don't know where the money we had been paying for roads via gas tax went so we need more taxes to fix the roads and bridges. NOT too happy with them right now. For the most part we're a fairly well run state but its slipping. Tashmahal libraries and a new pickup for each guy on the township road crew and poorly chosen/mandated software for the schools... still beats the east and left coasts.

Just drove up to Detroit for business this morning. yeah.. you Michigoobers could use some pothole repair work.

It is the season here in southern MN. The crews try to patch them up, but our weather isn?t right yet, too wet and too cold still, with a very hard winter the frost was deep and made the potholes extra special.

Governor wants to add 20 cent gas tax now, unfortunately a lot of the road money has been and will be diverted to bike trails, water ponds (called wetlands) along road right of ways, pollinator patches, and other extraneous spending, and not on actual roads.

Wisconsin did the same thing with the money from the gas tax. Now they say they don't have the money to fix roads. Legislators and governors seem unable to figure out why there isn't any money to fix roads.

You probably should call first. The Missouri river is a full 5 to 6 miles wide in several places. Don't even think about I-29.

When he was campaigning, the guv wanted a 10 cent tax increase. True to his word, yeah, right- he wants 20 cents now, PLUS indexed for inflation. So every year it would go up even more. That doesn"t get much press tho. The tax and spend party.

Yep and the other fella from MN missed the part about a lot of the gas tax goes into the general fund.

in West Virginia we name the potholes after the governor; when Jay Rockefeller was gov. they were Jayholes, etc.

(quoted from post at 10:10:56 03/20/19) Just think how much road tax money gets collected from people mowing the lawn ?

Here in Alabama the gov just got a $.10 gas tax increase and your exactly right. I have a landscaping lawn care business just wondering how much they will make off of us guys that’s not on the roads burning gas. Just another way to raise taxes so they can spend that on everything except roads
