I guess some grain bin engineers are up to their eyebrows in shirt.
On the other Ag site they said a square flat door was installed 2 years ago to allow bobcat to get in to help with clean out. Lot of speculation on a flat surface disrupting the tension on a round building with that much pressure on it, 50+ years old. Was a smooth oil tank type construction.
Sounds like it took out the main control center, electrical and all, of the whole facility, making it hard to do anything with any of the facility.

Vacuvators to the rescue. Would still be a monumental task with them. Having a place to put it even more so probably.

Two things instantly came to my mind:
One, if it was MY company that made that bin, more than two letters of my name/logo would be smiling up at the helicopter. The whole thing would be there for the world to see.

Apparently, when a grain bin bursts, it causes firemen to do a lot of standing around and pointing. Good use of tax payer dollars. Say, maybe that grain is some of the tax payer dollars. Nawwww.

Metal seldom's breaks all at once,i suspect they will find some old tearing of steel last year, and the rest tore this season !
