I think that his area was severely impacted by the storm. Hope he and his animals and family are above water.

We are all well. My son syncro breed ( shots and feed, then AI and two bulls) his cows so his calving season would be short. Well he is getting his wish. The only trouble is his lots and pastures are pure mud. So far we have had 73 calves in the last three days. It has been a job getting them going. So far only lost one, he got stepped on right after birth and never could stand up. Poor little fellow.

I had warned him about March calving but he wanted to be done before planting. I calve in early May. I 99% of the time feed my own out so I could careless what they weight in the fall. I want warm weather and green grass for the cows/calves to start in.

So any way chores are taking up the majority of the day.

I'm with you on that. I don't like to calve before the third week of April at the earliest. About the first of July last year, the bulls trashed a gate and got out with the ones on the south side though. I got them back in,but they did it again,so I just left them. I sure hope things straighten up by the first week of April this year because I'll have some on the ground for sure.
