165 D. How big of plow

Just got this tractor. Will this tractor pull a JD 3-14 plow. Have an 8 ft. Burch wheel disk. Its sandy clay soil i have about 800 lbs for the front no weight on the back tire or will it pull the guts out of this tractor thanks

It will pull a 3X14 plow in sandy ground no problem, doubt you will need any front weight either..

I've plowed many acres with a model 82 MF 3 bottom with a 255D. She would snort a little in clay or sod. Used a nine foot IH wheel disc with no problems, same 255, "about" the same as a 165.

A 165 MF diesel will easily handle a 4-14 3 pt mounted plow. Trailer plow will be a 3 bottom.

Should be no problem with that 3 bottom plow and a 11' tandem finnishing disk. Same size as our 4000 (4100) Fords and that was size plow we pulled and a 13' disk. But tires were filled with weights and with disk duals. Our Fords had 38" rear wheels and that 165 could have had same size but also could have had 28" rear wheels so if smaller tire possibly traction problem.
