another sign of spring

I still have 8 to 12 inches of snow in my yard and yet this morning I saw two chipmunks. Last week someone saw a bear. They speculate that the bear's den may have gotten flooded with water and and it had to abandon it.

That probably pizzed that bear off, sleeping in a wet bed and nobody else to blame it on.

Chipmunks don't hibernate. They go out and are pretty active as long as it's not too cold.
