Is something upside down in here ? It won't close all the way. There is a half circle piece that flops off the bottom. Also how does the choke cable attach? TSX 363. On an Oliver 77. Thanks.

You are missing a little spring that goes across the flapper and hooks into little cuts in each side. I have found those springs for sale separately at a Ford New Holland dealer for the old Fords. You are also missing a piece to lock the cable down on the bracket on the outside where the 2 holes are.

That L shaped bracket behind the arm with that brass square, there's a tab that goes in the slot and is held by a screw. The one on my 1550 is missing. I have that one tied down snug with a zip tie.

So.....the part is in correctly, just missing a spring? It won't stay open and the tractor ain't happy when you drive it.

on the carbs I have seen the half moon with the flap valve is on the bottom...it also looks in the pics as if the arm has to be pushed forward to close the choke...it should have to be pulled to be closed and pushed to be open...I think the choke butterfly is installed wrong

(quoted from post at 04:29:35 03/16/19) That's what I thought. It was upside down. The carb on the MM r is the other way.

I think the choke plate is installed upside down. That plate may appear to be perfectly round, but it isn't. It is an oval.
