When I was in Germany a german stole one and took it downtown for a demo derby. Cops and MP's could not do anything but follow and watch. It seems like 7 or 8 cars got run over and I don't remember how they got it stopped.

When I was in Fort Hood Texas someone stole a tank and took off for Copperas Cove. They said he was going 60 mph down the highway but I am not sure if M60s went that fast. If I remember right, they chased him but had to just let him run out of fuel. No way to stop it. There were a lot of tank accidents. A couple of times they ran over the escort jeep. One ran over a Sargent out in the field who was sleeping in front of the track. One rolled over with the solder sticking out above the hatch. I would guess there were 25 to 30 soldiers killed there in the year and a half I was there. Two or three choppers collided and something like 18 were killed. Also several drug killings. When I was at Fort Bliss for a couple weeks a Cobra doing night training hit a highline. They hauled the pieces back in a 5 ton. Turbine was the only thing recognizable. Horrible to think how many solders are killed in wartime just in accidents. Sorry for the downer, the video just reminded me.

It always amazes me that us humans seem to thrive on and enjoy watching destruction, misfortune and misery. Some of the most popular You Tube stuff falls into these categories. Any thoughts on why this might be?

I hear ya! I quit watching "Funniest Home Videos" for that reason. Towards last all it was was how many different ways you could get hit in the groin! Funny at first, but after a while it got old.
