I took these a few years ago and thought they were worth sharing again.

A couple more axles, under that van turning left and he would have been fine. Axles would have spanned the ditch then. Have had some field drivways that were narrow just used the many axles to span it like that.

That must be what the truck and car drivers on I-70 thought last week! There were many signs leading up to the summit stating "all trucks and 2 wheel drive vehicles must have chains" But when we got to the steeper area there was a semi stuck in the right lane (without chains) and 2- 2 wheel drive cars (without chains) trying to get around it with no avail. Finally they gave up and backed out of the way. Our Subaru with AWD is exempt from the chain law, and continued on without ever spinning a wheel. I hope the highway patrol came along with enough sand to get them out of the way and then wrote some tickets for blocking the road, the fine for not complying to the chain law and blocking the road is about $1500.

I've shared this before, so bear with me if you've already read it...

There was a company here that built the big people loaders that airports use for the passenger jets.

Huge, multi million dollar pieces of equipment. They were moved on special trailers, wide loads, permitted, escorted moves.

One day I drove by the place, there laying on it's side in the ditch was one of the completed units, twisted and ruined, the truck hanging by the trailer.

Obviously the driver drove up to the intersection, stopped at the stop sign, then proceeded to turn right with no regard to what was following him, or the 10' deep drainage ditch on his right that so quickly ruined his day!
