OT: braggart of grrndkid....for shame

All,

I've got a grandboy that listens to me! Where did that come from? He eats, and well at that. The rascal is about 3 plus years, and man do I have to watch the blue lamguage around him.

He's attentive, sleeps well into morning, all boy for sure. He loves the "tractors" in my shed. Probably everything with a few wheels is a tractor to him.

He's a climbing fool. He gets into everything. I like it. No complaints from me, just gentle "guidance" so he doesn't get sent home all battered up from the experience.

He does not want to go home after a few days here. Heck, why would you? Gma has you fed, you get a ton of toys, and you getta play on all the "tractors". He's fell a a time or so, he's got the grip and balance figured out, well, he's got the no-cry thing figured out anyway.

Slow day here, but I am on top of the world. He's soundly asleep now.

Just the way every kid OUGHT to be. Nothing wrong with learning by getting a little bump or two also. Raised 3 sons and they all wore boots all had a bump or scratch from time to time and they all needed a bath at night.

Full of pizz and vinegar like a good boy ought to be. And they say you learn all the stuff you really need to learn by seven.

Remember when my grandson was about that age his folks would leave his sister and him with us over night. When we took them home the poor boy did not know if he wanted to stay home or go home with us. Time or too he cried when we left. He is now 13 and don't seem to have time with grandpa anymore.

NEKS ..... happens to everyone so not to worry. I think us grandparents flatter ourselves that the wee ones find things at our place so interesting compared to home when they're young. Really, it's just like a new TV program for them. And yes, eventually hangin' out with gramps isn't too cool anymore. Wait till they're 21 ..... ha! Can you imagine what teachers nowadays go through trying to provide activities and learning experiences for five hours ever day when kids have grown up with a steady diet of TV and computer games, etc. The old teacher is pretty boring in comparison.

Just sent home a little 4 year old girl. She had been with us for more than a year. She learned to bottle feed a baby calf and how much fun it was to ride the hay wagon how to feed chickens and goats. Her mother who is currently living with a registered X88 offender completed her parenting classes and passed 3 drug tests in row. She now gets her two daughters back and can apply for more welfare as a single mother.

Dhermesc, if I read your post right, I would hate to return that poor girl to that circumstance. The mother is just a guilty as the live in.

Know the feeling. I was my grandkids best friend when they were smaller. They fought over who would sit with me at a meal. I would one on either side and maybe two on my lap. Now, it is high and bye. They don't realize while they have other interests I don't. They are still my life and their parents but I guess that is the genesis of life.
